Stay Informed April 2025
Message from the Practice Manager
I would like to wish you a Happy Spring, it is great to see the weather taking a turn for the better and all the plants coming back to life for another year.
As you will see in the news and social media, the NHS continues to face many challenges both nationally and locally.
Here at Queensway Medical Centre, we remain positive and will continue to strive to provide the best possible service to our patients, and continue our commitment to training the health professionals of the future.
Easter is late this year, so I wish you Happy Easter for April 2025, for those who celebrate.
The surgery will be closed for Easter from Friday 18th April – Monday 21st April. We will be open as normal on Tuesday 22nd April.

The NHS is going 'greener 'and we would like to play our part. We have taken some steps towards this:
- A new refuse collection has been organised with the local council to ensure that all our rubbish is recycled.
- Switched to Sustainably sourced tea and coffee.
- Switched to recycled paper for our printing.
- Communicating via text messages, where we can, to reduce printer toner and paper usage.
- Recycling our printer toners.
- Switching to low energy lighting throughout the surgery.
- We are looking into an initiative which will allow our patients to recycle their diabetes pens.
We are always looking for new and interesting ways to try and go green.
Do you have any ideas or suggestions you could share with us? Contact us here.
Kind regards,
Jenny

Parkinsons Awareness Week - April 14th - 20th
As there is no cure for Parkinson's, this is an annual opportunity to raise awareness and much needed funds to support people living with the condition, to improve quality of life and to ensure that people live better for longer.
Up to 50% of people with Parkinson’s will suffer from Anxiety or Depression at some point during their illness. These conditions are often over looked and undiagnosed. Living with Anxiety or Depression with Parkinson’s will worsen symptoms such as tremor, stiffness, sleep problems and pain and much more. When left untreated, Anxiety and Depression reduces quality of life.

Friends and Family Test Feedback
"Dr Mostafa today was very professional but he was also really sweet with my boy, he made my 2 year old feel at ease and gave him a sticker at the end of the appointment. My son was happy and I’m sure this will make a difference next time he’ll need to see a GP. Dr Mostafa listened to my concerns and explained everything well."
